For the past 100 years, it has been ubiquitous in Germany: Deutsches Institut für Normung e.V. Most of us know the private organisation for standardisation under its acronym, DIN. It has celebrated its 100th anniversary with an exclusive gala event. Nearly 500 guests from the spheres of politics, economics and industry were taken on a visually impressive journey through the past century of DIN. We were delighted to make our client’s wish come true: “We don’t want to be at the centre of attention. Fewer speeches. More show. We want to surprise, entertain and delight our guests. We want to celebrate together and show that DIN will always be a reliable partner.”
The result is an impressive spectacle in one of the most unique venues of the capital: Kraftwerk Berlin. We created a stage set that harmonises with the architecture of the building. With a projection screen, medial installations and a live performance, it was the perfect backdrop for an emotional journey through ten decades of DIN. The balanced sound and lighting concept yielded a truly thrilling show. Together with CEO Christoph Winterhalter, Dr Albert Dürr, the President of DIN, and our “party crashers”, we combined important messages with entertaining show elements to throw a fabulous party for everyone.
Christoph Winterhalter summarised the evening in similar terms: “The venue is sensational, and we put on a surprisingly unusual show. That is exactly what we were going for. We wanted to organise something nobody expected. To look back on the past 100 years with a twinkle in our eyes and say: we are ready for change. ‘Open-minded. Open for change.’ That is exactly how the successful show made us feel tonight. The feedback from our guests was amazing, too.”
We are proud to have helped our client throw such a brilliant event for their guests. From the design and the organisation to the complete implementation – CB.e gets things moving.
We will meet again. In 2117 – or sooner?
